Two Months Postpartum + Newborn Favorites

The boys turned two months old on the 23rd & are growing like weeds!  We’ve started to put them down for naps in their cribs…they look so tiny in them! We have switched to on-demand feeding which has been nice, especially during the night. The photos below sum up twin life perfectly…

Wyatt:  Wyatt is 9lbs 4oz.  He tends to be fussier than his brother, but he loves music!  Usually, when his dad plays the guitar or piano for him he calms right down.  He is so expressive & still makes the funniest facial expressions!  He loves to be on his tummy & would sleep that way if mom & dad would let him.  He also loves bath time!

Boden: Boden is 9lbs 11oz. He is such a chill baby! He really only fusses when he’s getting his diaper changed or when he’s doing tummy time. He loves to coo & has been making the most adorable sounds, but boy does he have a set of lungs on him! His hair looked blonde at first, but now is looking more red.

Me: My recovery has gone very well. At my five week appointment, my incision was completely healed & my doctor lifted all restrictions. My lower belly is still sore & sensitive, but getting better. I’m about 8 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight, but am still pretty round in my midsection!

Favorite newborn products:  Here are some more products (in addition to the ones I previously wrote about) that we have loved over the past two months!

  1. Comotomo bottles now that the boys are older & eating much better, we have been loving these bottles!  They aren’t as messy & are way easier to clean (they have a wide neck & not as many parts!)

  2. Owlet I received two owlets at my baby shower but we didn't start using them regularly until a week ago.  These things are amazing & give me so much peace of mind.  I would constantly be waking up to make sure they were breathing or would have trouble falling asleep because I would be worried about them.  I love that I can check the app & see how well they are breathing. There currently isn’t a way to set up the app for two babies, so that’s why it took me while to start using them.

  3. Hatch Baby Rest this is something we actually used at the beginning when we brought the boys home. I love that I can control it from my phone & it was nice having white noise while trying to go to sleep. I’m excited to use it as an “okay to wake” light when the boys get older.

The Boys are Here!

On Friday, November 23, 2018 we welcomed our beautiful baby boys to the world at 35 weeks exactly. They are just over two weeks old & we are so in love with them!

If you read my previous post, you know that I had to spend a couple of days in the hospital because I had high blood pressure & later found out I had preeclampsia. I got discharged on Thanksgiving & had to return the next day for an already scheduled non-stress test.

During my NST, my blood pressure continued to be very high. The nurse told me that the babies would be coming soon — I was terrified! The doctor came in & gave me the choice of being induced to try a natural labor & delivery or to have a c-section. I chose to have a c-section for several reasons.

A few hours later, they were wheeling me back to the operating room to have our babes!

Wyatt Lane Fuller was born at 8:47pm, weighed 4lbs 7oz & was 17.25” long.

Boden Wilder Fuller was born at 8:51pm, weighed 5lbs 2oz & was 18.5” long.

The boys were born healthy, thank goodness!  They needed minimal NICU time & we all got to go home together after 4 days.

My recovery was hard at first.  I was in a lot of pain (to be expected) but now after two weeks I’m feeling really good.

We are over the moon with happiness & can’t believe they are finally here ❤️
