Life Update

Wow…I cannot believe that it has been two months since I’ve shared anything on the blog! Life has been so busy recently. The boys turned 10 months old on the 23rd & they are absolutely getting into EVERYTHING!

Here’s a little glimpse at what we’ve been up to over the last two months:

• My little sister got married

• I celebrated my 29th birthday

• Our sweet baby nephew was born

• Took another family trip to Disneyland

• Sean & I had our 8th wedding anniversary

• Celebrated the marriage of my sister & brother-in-law with an all-out party!

• And of course…spent most of the time chasing around two almost toddlers

At the beginning of September, Sean took another three weeks off for paternity leave. It has been so nice having him around 24/7 for the past few weeks! He still has six days off & we are looking forward to spending some family time together, just us four! Since the beginning of his leave was jam-packed with vacations & family get-togethers, it will be nice to have a few days of downtime before he heads back to work.

His first week off we spent in Disneyland! We spent seven days at the parks & I have to admit…it was way harder than we thought it would be. We took the boys to Disneyland back in June & had so much fun! But, we had my parents there to help & we only stayed for four days. This time, Sean & I were on our own with the twins & the boys are bigger, more mobile & busier than before. We still had a great time & of course, can’t wait to go back :)

Like I mentioned earlier, Wyatt & Boden are 10 months old now. Wyatt has seven teeth & Boden has six. They are both pulling themselves up, eating more solid foods, talking/being goofy & my absolute favorite…playing with each other! I love to see them interacting, I hope they will be best friends when they are older.

As summer comes to an end, I’m looking forward to bringing some fun & fresh fall content to the blog. After all, this is my favorite time of year :)

Eight Month Update

Wyatt & Boden are eight months old…already! I’m starting to think about their first birthday & I can’t believe it’s coming up so fast.

Both of the boys have two bottom teeth & they are starting to get some upper teeth as well. Boden says “dada” all day long & Wyatt will say “mama” but usually only when he is upset or wants something. 😜

They can definitely get to where they want to go! They are army crawling & can get up on their knees, rocking back & forth…I think they are going to really take off soon!

Sitting up, playing with each other, grabbing for things, Miesha, feeding themselves (taking the spoon from mommy), playing with their toys & rolling around on the floor are some of their favorite things.

Boden is definitely a mama's boy! He loves to be held. Wyatt is happiest when he is on the move! He especially loves to jump. We took them swimming the other day at my grandparents house & Wyatt loved it! It was so cute watching him kick his little legs in the water.

Our daily routine has changed a bit since the last time I shared. The boys have an earlier bedtime now & have two smaller naps instead of one long one. They have been holding their bottles for a while now, which has made feeding them a million times easier! In the mornings, Sean will make bottles and give them to the boys in their cribs. Since they can feed themselves, they no longer come to our bed in the morning for their 6am bottle. Which means mama gets to sleep! 🙌

These baby boys are keeping me busy — they are getting into everything! It’s only going to get crazier around here as they become more mobile. I see some baby proofing in our near future!

Twin Boy Nursery

I wrote this post back in OCTOBER but just realized I never posted it! I’ve updated the pictures & content to show the nursery in its current state :)

The twins’ nursery is by far my favorite room in the house. I spent so many hours in this room when I was pregnant, getting it all ready for our baby boys! My favorite thing was folding & putting away their teeny tiny clothes after washing them. Mmmmm why do baby clothes smell so good?!

The color is “Coney Island” from Behr. I was inspired by Jessica Garvin’s (Garvin & Co.) office & I fell in love with the color right away!

My husband & dad modified the chair to make it a rocker & the baskets that the books are in came from a local grocery store.

Sean’s great grandpa made this toy box for him when he was younger. He also made wooden toys that are inside! I’m excited for the boys to play with them once they get a little older. I painted it the same navy blue color that is in our living room (Starless Night from Behr). My grandpa made the wooden trees & the figurines were Sean’s grandmas.

I love this growth chart that my mother-in-law got at a local farmers market! The “never grow up” print was used at my baby shower & is from Etsy. My shower was Peter Pan themed & it was fun to incorporate some of the decor from the shower into the nursery.

We still need to frame & hang some artwork that their grandma made (hopefully soon!) but this is what the nursery currently looks like!
