Peter Pan Themed Baby Shower

One year ago today we celebrated the twins with a Peter Pan themed baby shower! I never shared any pictures of the shower…so here we are, one year later!

I always knew I wanted to have a Peter Pan themed baby shower if I ever had a boy, so this was an easy theme for me to decide on.

Invitations: These adorable invitations from Etsy are the ones we sent out to guests. Neverland Baby Shower Invitations.

Decorations: We decorated based on locations of Neverland. Sean made a directional sign that read “Pirates Cove, Indian Camp, Lost Boys Den, Mermaid Lagoon”.

There was a treasure chest filled with treasure & a pirate flag for Pirates Cove, a teepee with “fire”, lights & feathers for the Indian Camp, stars, greenery & twinkle lights for the Lost Boys Den, & fishing nets, shells, starfish & sand dollars for Mermaid Lagoon.

My mother-in-law painted these beautiful pictures that we had scattered throughout the house. She also made the direction signs to show people where the shower was. I wish I got some pictures of those! I want to get these framed for the boys’ nursery.

Sweets: I have the biggest sweet tooth, so of course we had to have a bunch of my favorite treats! Macarons, truffles, gummy crocodiles, suckers & pixie sticks were among the mix of goodies.

Food: My mom & sister did such a nice job of putting the food together! Beautiful mix of fruits, nuts, breads, jams, meats & cheeses.

Guest Book: We used a classic Peter Pan book for guests to write in. We had a sign that said “When the boys get older and open this book, they’ll see your name in a sweet little nook”.

Party Favors: I ordered soaps from Etsy for the guests to take home. I thought it was a cute little party favor since Peter tries to stick his shadow on with soap :)

There you have it, a glimpse inside the twins baby shower! This was such a wonderful day, it’s hard to believe that it was a year ago!

Apple Picking

We spent the last day of September & the last day of Sean’s paternity leave at a gorgeous farm on Mt. Hood picking apples. Although cloudy, it wasn’t raining or too cold which made for a comfortable walk through the orchard.

There were plenty of different fruits to pick from, we picked Gala & Golden Delicious apples. I’ve wanted to go apple picking for years & I was so happy to be able to go this year with Sean, Wyatt & Boden. The boys absolutely loved eating the apples! It was the cutest thing watching them hold apples in their tiny hands & take bites out of them.

It was the perfect way to conclude Sean’s leave, even though we really didn't want it to end! I hope this will become a new family tradition for us, as we pulled away from the farm I felt refreshed & happy. There is nothing in the world I love more than having precious moments like these with my boys.

I’ve already made the boys some apple sauce, it was a huge hit! Do you have any good recipes for Gala or Golden Delicious apples?

As you can imagine, we took about a million pictures! It was so hard to pick which photos to use for this post. If you are interested, you can click this link to view all of the photos from our day.
